Which is a shame, because I was interested in how the story between the two main characters would unfold.But the writing style is so choppy and distracting, I could not get into it.The POV will change 2 to 3 times in one page, with large breaks between a few paragraphs, or even a few sentences. That's why the book is 600 pages, I believe. Not die to content but the way it is written.I'm not sure if the format on this review will allow it, but I am writing this basically in the authors format.Get better editing.I'm no writing expert, but I believe the large space between two paragraphs is usually supposed to indicate a change in place, or a large break in time. But this author uses it so often, it gets very tedious. One "action" scene will have 2 POV's on one page, and it makes the overall feel choppy, disconnected, and overall, irritating.
Amnesia is everything it promised and more - Sci-fi, fantasy, romance with characters and worlds that draw you in.After only a few pages you want to find out the bizarre life and fate of Amber... Hell I wanted to be Amber.The author creates magical and engaging characters that are relatable, exotic but are flawed and show weakness through all their strengths, making these alien beings more human.Its a great read and escape.Can't wait to start the next book in the series and excited to see more from this new author.
Great high fantasy romance book, I've already ordered book 2. I couldn't stop reading once I had started, each chapter reveals something new and shocking about her amnesia that keeps you turning the pages to find out more. Once her memory returns the angst stays because this sweet girl has been taken captive by a man/alien that you sometimes love and sometimes hate, a real beauty and the beast tale with lots of sizzling scenes as promised. Awesome characters in new worlds that are easy to follow and fall in love with.
Amnesia was an exciting and romantic read. The world building was different and easy to follow and the writing style made me feel like I was inside Ambers mind trying to figure out who and where she was. Later as the plot unfolds I loved that she was still uneasy because of her perceived mental illness and how she overcomes this so heroically.I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds further.
I really enjoyed reading this book!. The spicy relationship between Wrexel and Amber leaves you on the edge of your seat. Amber as a character annoyed me but the other characters, plotline, and universe made up for that :) I think it takes a talented author to be able to really make you hate or love a character. So, overall well done, and I would definitely recommend this book.
Amnesia: The Adrsta Chronicles - Book One by Canada Jackson is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in a start to a brand new series and writen by a brand new author for me to read. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading Sci-Fi and Paranormal stories.
