I was so excited when I purchased this book. I got this because growing up I had read my friends book: "10,000 Dreams Interpreted: An Illustrated Guide to Unlocking the Secrets of Your Dreamlife" and it was amazing! Since both are written by the same author, I assumed this was a new and improved version. Sadly, it is NOTHING like the original. The previous/original book seemed more detailed and accurate. Half of the topics in this book just don't exist or if they do exist it's a vague and inaccurate interpretation. I looked up Cat because my mom dreamed of OUR CAT, and it just said "bad luck" in more or less words. I tried to look up "Pet" and it just isn't in there. As I was trying to find the word "pet" I came across "penis" which was another simple and inaccurate interpretation: "to dream of a penis means pregnancy or birth announcement." That is so far from the truth it makes my skin crawl. I don't know if I should just throw the book away or give it to goodwill. I don't want to upset anyone else so I might just trash it.
I was super excited to get this in hopes that it would help me understand my dreams better. Instead it reads like a fortune cookie and is very general. Even those there are 12,000 topics I still struggled to find what I was looking for. I ended up returning it.
Packaged very well. I use this book more than I probably should be. It's very interesting to find out the meaning of dreams, or something in your dream that you are unsure about. Sometimes the meaning may not be close to what your dream was about, just use your imagination; the meanings in are either right on or close to.
Lots of dream topics, but all very vague. Not a lot to them, so if you want an in depth idea of what the meaning to a dream meant, this book probably isn't what you are looking for. I still end up on Google, searching on one of the many websites out there that have dream interpretation.
This book is not as 'detailed' in it's definitions as I'd hoped it would be. But a co-worker and I have fun with it. We are currently using it as a cross-reference for another dream interpretation author's book.
I purchased this for a friend so I'm not sure how she liked it! However, after looking at other books, this seemed to be an easy and quick way to interpret dreams. It was alphabetical, clear and concise. Exactly what I was looking for!
Wasn't what I thought it was, but it's a dictionary of definitions of words for your dreams.
This was given as a gift. The person has really enjoyed it.
