Amazon.com Review

Amidst the glitzy fanfare of a new world regime, control is unraveling for self-proclaimed god and Global Community potentate Nicolae Carpathia in Desecration, the ninth installment in the Left Behind series. It's 25 days into the Great Tribulation, and the newly resurrected Carpathia evinces an increasing fondness for gruesome killing. He's thrown into turmoil when the first two "bowls of wrath" from the biblical book Revelation are poured out on the world. Water turns into blood, and those who are branded with the mark of loyalty become covered with loathsome sores. When Carpathia commits the ultimate act of desecration against the Judeo-Christian community, chaos ensues. Meanwhile, the Tribulation Force soldiers on, receiving visitations from heavenly messengers that prod the team to greater acts of courage. Jenkins's characters seem almost comic book-like in their actions; the author relies on pages of slangy, slapstick dialogue rather than character development or descriptive settings to flesh out his tales. It's the angst of wondering what disaster will occur next and the fascination with end times that keep loyal fans turning the pages. And there's no shortage of angst here. Chang Wong flirts with suicide. Hattie Durham risks her life in a confrontation with Carpathia. Tsion Ben-Judah inadvertently gives away a secret location. Chloe Williams uncovers a remnant of believers. There are touches of the standard Left Behind humor, and even some romance in the last days. As always, readers are left hanging at the edge of disaster, which should keep appetites whetted for the promised next installment. --Cindy Crosby

Tired of hearing comparisons to The Christ Clone Series! While I have not read that series yet will have to say the Left Behind Series is quite remarkable. It is suspenseful, funny, and quite breath taking in its depiction of the end times. Definitely recommend this to all. It has been a long read but has been well worth it. Some very memorable moments, sayings, and teachings in it. It is a series we as Christians all need to read to understand a little of what is to come for this world. And to those of you who can't help but compare the two series, I say this: They are written by separate authors, each author has a separate style of writing!! If you have gotten o Desecration means you have read 8 books before it, how can you read 8 books if you don't like them?

I rated this newest addition to the series as only 3 stars because, after finishing the last page, I felt disappointed. With the other books of this series, the first "half" of the story builds up to the climax of the crisis that the previous book ended with. Then the second "half" of the book started a new crisis. DESECRETION was different. The entire book dealt with the topic of the desert sanctuary for the Jewish people who accepted Christ as Messiah and the Antichrist's goal to destroy it/them. There were minor crisis' that were dealt with in the story, but that was pretty much the focus. Don't get me wrong, I think this is an important book for the development of the series, but as an individual segment, I felt it was disappointing after the long wait between books. At the end, I felt I was left hanging. I sincerely hope that the next installment in this series picks up the pace a little bit. This series is an excellent one and the other books were wonderful. I just hope the books to follow are as good as the first eight.

I LIKE THE ENTIRE SERIES. THIS IS MY 5TH TIME READING THE ENTIRE SERIES AND I WILL READ IT AGAIN. EACH TIME I FIND SOMETHING NEW THAT HAS TO DO WITH ACTUAL END TIMES EVENTS THAT THE BIBLE SAYS WILL OCCUR.

I began reading this series reluctantly, but was hooked on the first few books. This release, number 9 in the series, left a lot to be desired. The characters seem to be more flat in their development, and I got the impression that the authors were running out of ideas. Many have called the authors the religious Tom Clancy's. I felt that if that was the case, this whole story could have been wrapped up into 3 or maybe 4 books in all.A couple of plot twists kept me reading, but I felt like I was reading it less out of enjoyment and more out of obligation to get through the series. What started out with a lot of excitement and sleepless nights reading all I could has given way to more of "are we there yet?" I hope the next book, which is supposed to be the finale is better executed than this edition.

I chose this rating because I really like this series and Bible prophecy is very interesting. I would also recommend this to anyone that wants to know more about the abomination that causes desecration.

Desecration is written by a Christen writer who has written all of these books taken from Revelations in the King James Bible. It's a layman's idea as to what will happen to each of us when The Rapture occurs, those who went with Crist and those who were: Left Behind. Left Behind is the first book and the rest are sequels. Interesting reading for all. Take the time to read them all as it's very mind-filling especially if you are a reader of His word.

Of the "Left Behind" series, this is one of the best, so far.Increasingly, the supernatural nature of this conflict is being revealed. The power of God, in the face of the evil fury of the Anti-Christ, stirs the imagination of the believer. Most of the action occurs in the Middle East, God's timepiece for the last days. The story is action-packed and fast-moving. Though the story line is well-known to most believers, the authors keep you on the edge of your seat through unexpected twists and turns. Just when there appears to be no way out of trouble for the children of Israel, Michael the archangel to the rescue! The bowl judgements really had me cheering for the good guys!More and more, this ultimate drama between good and evil is shifting toward the heavenly realms where the true conflict will be resolved.Gotta love this one...

Desecration, the 9th book in the 'Left Behind' saga is one of the better reads in this maxi-series.From the opening chapter until the cliffhanger it is more or less non-stop action. Well, that is to say there is much more action than some of the previous novels in this saga due to the fact the authors have only a few books left to cover some of the most explosive events of the 2nd half of the tribulation. For our main characters, picking sides has never been more important than right now. For Nicolae Carpathia, the Antichrist, has declared marshal law...and for those who do not brandish the mark of loyalty on either their hand or their forehead is put to death by guillotine. Worship me or perish he declares as he breaks his peace covenant with Israel and makes a mockery of the most holy of temples. Now believers of Christ and especially the foretold 144,000 make their way to safety in Petra with the Carpathia's forces in pursuit.I was also happy to see that the authors had progressed or matured as writers quite noticeably with this 9th effort. Though the camp dialogue still exists, it has improved and the atrocities and manipulations of the Antichrist are detailed. In addition when God allows the 1st of the seals to be opened and his judgment brought down upon the world, the descriptions of fleshly boils and oceans of blood are pretty dramatic and page turning. Even more so is Nicolae's response and handling of these global events, and now we see the world plunge further into chaos as even those with the mark of loyalty begin to question Carpathia's ways and their own decisions. There are some who have taken the mark of the beast, and only when it is too late do they start to come around. Woe to them. There are some introductions of a few new characters, but one death amongst the main characters will shock you.
